Therapy, whether individually or in relationship, is ultimately a moment to say yes to a greater understanding of you.
Rarely do we take the time to really focus on ourselves in this busy world we live in. Rarely do we slow down enough to feel what we are feeling or fully embrace the moment we are in.
When we are moving so fast, it can be difficult to see what is causing our distress and we start blaming it on our external circumstances, such as our jobs, relationships, family issues, etc. We can find a million reasons outside of ourselves that are in our way.
Walking through my door means you are ready to look within yourself for the answers. Not to blame yourself, but to slow down and thank yourself for taking care of you in whatever way is needed, and then moving forward.

Being a young adult (roughly ages 18-25) is not an easy place in life to be. There are many expectations about starting your life separate from your family, and that can be daunting. The plethora of societal pressures compounds the family and personal pressures. You are supposed to graduate from high school, go to college, get a degree, get a good paying job, and find a partner to start a family with. Seriously? Where is the room for YOUR individual experience? Where is the room for YOUR specific, wants, needs, and desires for your life, separate from everyone else’s dreams for you? Do you even know who you are yet, or what you want in life?
You are probably starting to notice that some things from childhood have stuck with you and won’t go away. You have probably noticed some patterns that are no longer serving you. Are you ready to step into who you are, as an autonomous person who has an internal compass? It is very possible to move through this awkward transition with grace. I needed support to get through it, and if you feel like you do to, there is no shame in that.
In this culture we are so focused on individualism and have trouble forming true community and seeking support from those around us. You don’t have to struggle alone anymore. Let’s dive into what is holding you back together, so that you can move forward on your own path, one that has to do with who you are, not who someone else wants you to be. Let’s create a life you are excited for.
Congratulations on taking this huge first step. When we get to this point of reaching out for help, it can be daunting and can also elicit shame. Shame is another toxic emotion that needs to be released. It is brilliant what you are doing. You are being honest with yourself about something needing to change, and you are trying to find out how to do that.
Therapy is ultimately a place to uncover the patterns that are no longer serving you and step into a more wise and authentic version of yourself. The uncomfortable symptoms you are experiencing, whether it is anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, grief and loss, technology abuse, addiction, or any other number of things, are signs that something needs to change. We can uncover the true source, instead of covering it up with a Band-Aid. Together we will add lightness and love where there has been shadow and pain.
I use many techniques during my work with clients to create an individualized support plan that will meet your specific needs. This isn’t cookie cutter therapy. It is also not Mr. Rogers therapy. I use compassionate, yet directive approaches that will really help you reach outside of your comfort zone and push your edges. Outside of your comfort zone is where the magic happens, and I will offer you a safe and nonjudgmental place to explore your highest highs and lowest lows, and everything in between.
You will leave therapy with a greater sense of peace, control over your life, and the resources to take care of yourself outside of the office. You will build your capacity for love and you will know your dark places intimately, so they are no longer scary and have control over you. Welcome!
We need to know ourselves inside out and be willing to get messy before we can expect to dance with another on this journey. Are you struggling to find the right partner and keep them, or are you in a relationship already that is failing?

ECO-JOURNEYS / WILDERNESS THERAPY
What is an “Eco Journey?” Lets start with the definition of ecology. e·col·o·gy: The interrelationship, totality, or pattern of relations between people and their environments. We interact with our environment every day. Our environments include where we live, where we work, whom we spend our time with, our relationship with ourselves, and our relationship with the earth.
Our ecological identities are vast, yet most of us do not take the time to see these interrelationships or attend to them accordingly. In order to gain balance in our lives, we need to look at all facets of our ecological identities and bring harmony to those relationships.
Your Eco Journey is unlimited and can include more traditional forms of psychotherapy, wilderness therapy, dream work, creative arts, and Reiki energy work, all of which I am passionate about sharing with you.
